In the mountains!

Fluffy white clouds hover over the mountain peaks; the
temperature is cool, but not cold – ideal for walking; there’s no one else on
the paths; the birds are chirping their little heads off. Imagine, I woke up in
a bad mood and here we are after a good walk almost euphoric.

Many rewards this morning as for the first time in two years
I felt able to hike back up to the avalanche retainer (last year there were
simply too many sprained ankles and working back up to a half hour was doing
well: this morning it was an hour and a half – half of which was uphill); lots
of insects out and about and the best reward of all: a mouthful of summer!
